Ryan MacDonald graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of physical education and is currently working on getting a nursing degree. He started working at APPLE Schools in 2012 as a school health facilitator for two years, then as a school health mentor for one year. He has returned as a summer student since then, helping staff in the Edmonton office. This year, he is providing mentor support to the Fort McMurray Catholic School District. Ryan is a firm believer in health and promotion and chronic disease prevention; his goal is to support schools and the APPLE Schools project in any capacity he can. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys being active, cooking (consider yourself lucky to try his creations!), spending time with friends, and bowling — he bowled for three straight hours on his 31st birthday.
